Nestled in the heart of Huntersville, North Carolina, Five Filly Farm (five fillies- named for our five children) began as a passionate family-run farm devoted to elevated equestrian breeding. What began as a cherished hobby quickly blossomed into a thriving international operation producing some of the highest quality Knabstrupper horses in the sport. 

 

In true farm fashion, a few horses soon turned into a herd of goats, llamas, sheep, pigs, cows, and so much more. With the addition of small animals came the opportunity to share our passion for farming and nature with our community. As we have seen our culture trend towards electronics and away from interpersonal interactions and nature, we are thrilled to introduce a program designed to reconnect kids with nature and farming while fostering interpersonal skills and personal responsibility. Through hands-on experiences and farm training, children learn practical farm skills, the value of teamwork, empathy, and communication as they care for animals and learn animal husbandry. Guided by our passionate team of Barnyard Behaviorists, kids engage in activities like grooming, gardening, and farm stewardship, cultivating a deep appreciation for the natural world and where our food comes from.

 

The Five Filly Farmers program empowers the next generation to build practical farm skills, self-confidence, and personal responsibility as they forge meaningful connections with each other, all while rediscovering the joy of life beyond screens.
